I captured this pic while hiking a ten-mile trail along the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore near Munising, Michigan (Upper Peninsula). I sought a composition that would capture as much natural color as possible, including a mostly clear sky. It took me several years of visiting to find the simultaneous combination of suitable weather and peak fall color.
