This wild young lioness at Bitterpan wilderness camp in Kgalagadi is a mere 25 feet from me staring me down. Im standing on the ground on the other side of a little fence which is slightly above waist height. This image is taken with a 55mm Fujinon lens, f2.8, 1/125s, ISO 3200. It was just a little too close for comfort and when the lion stood up i backed off. Better safe than dead. Fortunately he was more interested in the gemsbok (Oryx) in the salt pan below rather than me.
