The photograph was done in Toronto in 2002 - I borrowed the mask from a friend who acquired while on his trip to Venice, Italy. The accentuated nose of the mask helped create a weird other-worldly creature in the composition. The posing was a bit of a challenge for the female model, who was upside down and trying to maintain balance.
