Hey everyone! My name is Noam (yeah, from The Stolen Scream) and I'm one of the latest addition to the Fstoppers team. Each week I’ll be bringing you some of the most interesting, amazing and unique photos from Flickr. If you have any theme suggestions, or even photos you think should be included in future stories - feel free to comment on the bottom, or write to me here - I will read each and every suggestion you have!
This week I decided to start by showing some of the most amazing revolution, protest and riot photos taken this year. As you all know 2011 was a year packed with protests: Egypt, Syria, Libya, Greece, Canada and the US are just a few examples, and social media outlets such as Flickr, Facebook and Twitter were used as tools of communication and for spreading the news around the globe. Some of the pictures posted on Flickr were used by newspapers and magazines, but I want to show you some of those photos that many of you may not have seen before. Lets begin!

Cool, thanks for this post. I like to see a bit more documentary content on Fstoppers.
Vancouver wins the prize for the worst excuse to riot.
I agree, it also shouldn't even be in here, this was suppose to be about "World Revolutions" it has nothing to do with that.
In the description i said "revolution, protest and riot photos" but i guess the title i gave wasnt as good :)
Amazing pictures. I love each of them for a different reason but my favorite may be the smoke bomb being thrown.
Gotta love the rainbow
The riots we had in Vancouver were neither in protest nor part of a revolution. It was a bunch of completely moronic jackasses just being... well, morons.
Did this image of the Vancouver riots not make it in? Seriously?

This was one of the best photos of the year and everyone saw it... it was all over the news. I wanted to bring you all the great pictures that didnt get the exposure they should get :) makes sense?
Incredible shots!
There is something about the last picture ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/casperit/5988447240/ ) that i think is really special... maybe its just the calmness after all the craziness in the other pictures
The photo of the rainbow is spectacular!
