A Complete Sony ZV-1 Setup Guide for Video and Photography

If you have this fantastic little camera, it's worth making sure that you have it fully setup, as often the default settings are often far from optimal. In this 21 minute video, you can learn how to correctly configure it for filmmaking or photography.

The Sony ZV-1 has become a titan in the vlogging world, but it's also used by a lot of photographers and filmmakers for a walkabout camera that fits in a jacket pocket, or for b-roll. At just $748 at the time of writing this, it's not an expensive camera brand new, and it packs a real punch. It has a 24-70mm equivalent ZEISS lens with f/1.8 to f/2.8 maximum aperture, a flip-out touchscreen, 4K at 30p, and a great 20.1 megapixel CMOS sensor. It honestly might be one of the best deals out there at the moment.

One criticism, however, is that Sony camera menus are nightmarish to navigate. My primary camera is Sony and I'm not sure it's quite as bad as some make it out to be, and Sony are evolving it as we've seen with their a7S III, but it isn't necessarily straightforward. In this video by filmmaker and YouTuber, Sidney Diongzon, you will get a complete, step by step guide to setting up the Sony ZV-1.
