Who It’s For:
The Canon 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM is a professional wide angle lens and one of the three lenses that any professional photographer with a Canon camera will own (Along with the 24-70mm and 70-200mm). It’s expensive, but it’s tack sharp and built like a tank and ready for years of heavy use.
What We Like:
Sharpness: It’s much better than the first version in terms of sharpness.
Operation: It just works. This is a great lens and there is really very little wrong with it. Definitely worth the money.
What We Don’t:
82mm filter: you’ll probably have to buy a few new filters for this one as the front element is quite large.
Distortion: There’s quite a lot of distortion at 16mm, but that’s going to be the case in all ultra wide lenses.
Price: This is a very expensive lens, but if you need one, and you know who you are, you’ll absolutely love it.
