Hands-on First Impressions of the Fujifilm 8-16mm f/2.8

Ulta wide angle zooms are not a common lens type to see, but they're not without their uses. In this video, one photographer gives an honest hands-on with Fujifilm's offering. The Fujfilm 8-16mm f/2.8 R LM WR is a little under two years old now, which means the number of real world reviews we see are starting to appear. This lens is without question fairly niche and not every photographer would benefit from having it in their kit bad. Personally, I'm not sure where it would fit in my workflow for almost any job, but street and landscape photographers might be interesting in what it can add to their camera bag.

The general consenus with this UWA lens is that it's not really for videographers per se, but certainly has its useful for specific photography applications. As one might expect, wide open at f/2.8 and zoomed out to 8mm will see soft edges and some vignette, but that's pretty much par for the course with an UWA with a fast maximum aperture. Generally, however, the performance looks good, the image quality is high, and the drawbacks of weight wouldn't put me off it. I would recommend reading our Fstoppers review of the lens alongside this video by Roman Fox for a fuller pictrue.

It’s a stunning lens but not sure I could give up my 10-24 for it

I cannot parse this sentence. At all.
