Do a standard or hyper time lapse.
For a photo go to the times you want and make them into layers.
Determine what your slice size should be.
Go to view/new guides, type the size of where your first slice should be.
Make a new guild for all the next slices.
go through the layers and use the selection tool with snap to guilds turned on and select what you want to keep and hit the make mask button.
