Moody sunset ICM's

Just practicing ICM skills, trying to capture a sunset over the lake. The low cloud did little to help the color but I feel adds framing, texture and drama to the scene.

Any feedback would be appreciated (opinions respected from novice and seasoned veteran alike) I know ICM is not for all so feel free to comment accordingly.

The first one definitely appeals to me the most. I'm not sure why, but the others don't really do much for me. That's just my first impression. I'll come back later for a second look.

I agree with Matthew, Alan. It's also the image you posted at the top.

The reason it appeals most for me may be because it has more of a structure, compositional elements across the frame knitting it together. There is a recurring shallow asymmetric V motif.

I gather that you make a lot of selection out of your many captures, so do I take it that you construct these images, putting together the final composition?

Thanks Chris. I am a little confused by your last question. This is the result of a single exposure, albeit the result of many attempts to get the composition correct (difficult when the camera is in motion).

Does that answer your question?

Sorry, Alan. Not thinking - confused this with your multi-angle composites, if that's an apt description.

You know me - I glaze over if it's not straight photography. ;-)

Like these ones, all the same. I must admit. If I must.

Then you must......no good will come from denying yourself...… :-)

I"m partial to the first. Love the way the cloud patterns turned out.

Thanks Bruce - I like the additional cloud texture of the first also.
