Hi Matthew, as you are a willing contributor to the group I do feel you deserve feedback on your posts. I have held off to allow others to contribute and as I'm not sure what to make of this
This seems a contradiction to me and gives a feeling of discord. On one hand you have that gorgeous silhouette, but that is offset by the detail in the ground.
I like the shot, my mind is just not sure what to make of the contradiction. I'd love to hear the opinion of others as I don't feel mine may be relevant on this subject.
Thank you very much for taking the time to respond. I definitely see what you're saying about the discord there. This was a shot that I liked the concept of, but couldn't get a real positive feel about. My eye in particular seems to wander about the frame, looking for where to settle.
If you're at all interested, here's the original image. The family was walking out one end of a covered bridge into the outdoors, which was more overcast than prefered for this kind of shot.
I was actually like this Matthew.with the background being so indistinguishable it tells the tale of a family about to take a step together into the unknown.
If you could replace the trees with another background (night sky?) I think you would have an awesome image.
The body language of the family really provides potential for a great story.
