New month, new discussion

With the new month comes a need for new ideas to help keep our group engaged. I thought it might be with kicking off February with a new banner - I will choose a new banner each week assuming suitable entries are posted (remember the strict letter-box format....)

To kick things off, let the group know what you have been up to throughout January, and perhaps post a couple of images you have either shot or finally got round to processing in that period.

Here's a few of my own - one new shot taken in my neighborhood, and two older ones (from 2019) I have just got round to processing.

Feedback always welcomed, but not needed - we really want to find out what you have been up to and get a sample of any of your recent work you'd be willing to share.

January was an interesting month. Thinking back I'm not sure I took a single 'photography' photo and that is a real shame. I may get out there today. I did setup a FAA storefront and sold a few pieces; that was nice. Wish I could sell directly myself but a printer is still out of reach for the moment.

Thanks Joe. I picked up a Canon Pixma Pro 100 printer for under $100, which also came with a pack of 19" x 13" paper. I think they have crazy deals once a year or so, you just have to keep an eye open.
The Pro 100 is not pigment-based, but the prints are great (once you master the printing skill.....).

Here's an OLD ad I found, perhaps worth looking out for a repeat in March?

Congrats on your FAA success.

Fantastic, yeah I'll keep an eye out. Thanks for the heads up. :)

Since you asked...

I'm going to tell a similar story to Joe. The month of January was spent on photography that wasn't for me. I had the opportunity to take photos of a lot of sporting events, but none of that really counts as minimal, abstract, or experimental. I'll provide a few just for fun though.

In my personal life, I received a college acceptance. I also had a case of Covid-19 for the last week and a half of the month that continues. It hasn't been very pleasant, and it has prevented me from going out into the beautiful snow Indiana has gotten in the last few days.

Great action shots Matthew, hopefully you will be able to get out and shoot soon.
Have you tried these images in B&W? I think the lack of color may produce something totally different.

I occasionally do sports shots in B/W, but I haven't with the one above. The basketball is one from last winter, and the football one is from this fall.

Great shots!
Sorry you're not feeling well. Hope you bounce back soon!

Thank you, Bruce!

Beautiful work as always, Alan.

As for me, bits of this and bits of that (also reworking old files).

Great work William. I especially like you last (IR) image - very striking!

I'm a bit late commenting, but I'll second Alan. The last one leaves quite an impression.

That's odd, it won't allow me to respond or react to your comment, Alan.

Thank you. I think I'm going to pick up some IR film.
