Autumn and Winter Fashion Catalog Covers

I got a look at two catalogs I have shot this year that are coming out soon. I regularly shoot the fashion images for my client New Look by Simplicity which creates and publishes sewing patterns for beginning and advanced sewers to select and use to create their own fashions at home. We shoot fashion models wearing hand-made samples of the fashions in my studio. These two images are the covers of the Autumn and Winter 2015 sales catalogs. Currently we are shooting Spring 2016. For this brand we strive to establish and continue a modern image that carries from season to season while at the same time differentiate and advance the look with each season thru both the cover and several images inside.

The Autumn (left) image was created on a white set with sharper light from a single Chimera Beauty Dish/Profoto Pro7 and Foamcor fill cards either side. The Winter (right) image was also shot in my studio with softer light on a white set but we added a Foamcor panel covered with red seamless paper creating a corner. The light is from Plume Wafter 140 softbox/Profoto Pro7. On the inside of the catalog for Autumn we stayed on the white walled corner set with dark wood floor and the model is shot wearing the season's full line posing with modern furniture. In this case the walls are made from 1/2" Foamcor panels supported by Auto-Poles. For Winter, we use a similar set, but we created different color panels that we alternate throughout the shoot to compliment the fashion line. All were shot with Nikon D800 and D810 cameras with Nikon 70-200mm and Zeiss 85mm Otus lenses. We hire models from NYC fashion agencies. My crew consists of a digital technician working in Capture One Pro, my photo/production assistant. The client supplies wardrobe stylist and assistant and hair/make-up artist.
