I like the light on second one better. Don't know if it's because they are together but the first one looks kind of dull for my taste. Nice shot by the way

Thanks for your reply, I also like the second one most (Y)

The second one has a nice "Dani Diamond" style.
there is more life, her eyes look sharpener, the colour are super :)

The first one is flat and lacks contrasts to make it pop, the second one is standing out much better, and the contrasts of the second one also helps separate the model from the background!

The first is undercooked and the second one is burnt, almost to a cinder. But the background is so wrong/distracting and inappropriate (totally randome) the editing is not the point.

What do you mean with background, can you give some tips to improve it?

The choice of background is what I am refering to. Strong geometry and angles and patterns rarely add to a portrait, especially a femail, however much out of focus you record it.

If you had chosen to paint her, you could have put anything in the background and I don't think you would have chosen that random accident of background content. You might have chosen almost anything else fom a busy city street full of people, shop windows and traffic to a sharp office setting of even an elevator, or a trendy bar or restaurant but not the random ugliness behind the pretty female subject in your image. Photography is similar, we need to choose our backgrounds and everything in our photographs, it is just a bit more difficult as we have find, the content, travelling and timing the ligt etc. But that is what we have to do. It is the challenge and from this we get the satisfaction.

2nd. Reasons have been posted in previous comments.

I don't understand. What reasons for what?

The second, color toning and contrast make the image more appealing.

I really like the first one, and it would look even better if it was a little more exposed. The second one looks like some Instagram filter was put over it in a hurry. It cheapens the photo, in my opinion. If you work on the first one a little more, it would be nice.

Hm, there are different thoughts about it, some say the second one is good, other the first one :(

go with what your intuition tells you! intuition never lies.

I'd like to see something half way

I will try :P
