I would love some feedback on this photo. I am new so be kind, lol. Just be honest. I am serious about making aliving doing this and i would like to know what the community has to say about my work. Thank you for your comments and advice in advance.
I'd say portrait. And a good one. Nicely lit for a dramatic feel and definitely shows some character. If you're after shooting headshots then I'd suggest a more straightforward shot - even out the light a bit.. With a sideways glance like this it looks like he's got something to hide (not what you want in a headshot).
But, as a portrait, I like it a lot and I'm sure your subject does too. cheers
Is a good point. A portrait begs the question who is this person and a headshot answers the question, what they look like? Thank you for your response.
This is not a negative, rather a question. Is the overall blue cast deliberate, and if so, why? There is nothing wrong with a colour cast if deliberate and effective. I can't tell if you have applied the cast on purpose or by mistake, that is all.
i know what you mean. I have this thing about blue that sometimes it gives the yellows in an image a unique feel to it but it can also give the impression of unintended color cast.
Valid reason. I think a bit of out of focus background detail would have helped with cinematic imagery and if acceptable to the client, a wide screen aspect ratio such as 2.39:1 would have completed the effect.

thank you and appreciate your input.
I would call this a portrait. Well done too. Love the lighting. It's dramatic and matches the expression of the subject.
thank you
just for reference... A Headshot is what someone looks like... a portrait is who they are. I have no idea who this guy is.

Still confused. No yellows here. What were you trying for this time?
i was trying for a bit of a cinematic feel. The subject is an actor so i thought it would be a good idea to try for a bit of a cinematic feel.
