So I read an article from Dani on here a couple of weeks ago which changed the way I look at eyes and I came across a very old pic of mine where the eyes were nicely in focus. I decided to put what i'd learnt into action and this is the outcome. To be honest its a better result compared to how I usually work on eyes but would be great to get some thoughts on it!
Thank!
I'd say her eys look too much but nocked back a bit and they would be lovely. On the other hand, if her face had as much airbrushing as her eyes then there would at least be a balance and the eyes would sit more comfortably in the image. I might still feel the whole thing over cooked but who knows.
Actually, to me they don't look finished. She has red veins in the white's of her eyes. This is all subjective. Maybe your style of enhancing eyes doesn't account for the veins, or you're only seeking to minimize the veins and not remove them entirely. Conventional eye retouching by Kelby and other masters dictate the removal of red veins as they're seen as a distraction.
Well for me more disturbing is that the eyes right now are little "glowy", I quite often ends up something like than and I see that after day or two, never during edits. Especially lightened parts under her eyes looks bit odd, shadow looks unnatural to me. It sounds like a simple process yet I have failed it so many times... Keep hard working! :)
