Any feedback on lighting and specially the retouch of the skin?? Also do you notice any color banding or weird color shifts specially on the forehead area? I looked at this picture at work and it appeared with a red banding?weird color across the forehead but not in any of my computers at home. Thank you all for your time.
I see no weird effects of any kind.
Your lighting is good producing a good 3D effect and nice reflections in his eyes. If there is more at the bottom of the frame than you have shown us here, I would include a bit of it. I would also crop the top a bit, reducing the space above his head. I can't tell if you have done any Photoshop work on his skin, and that is a good thing. So, any work you may have done has been very well executed.
It is slightly too pale.
I suspect you used studio style flash with a modeling light, not certain of course but that is how I read it. The reason I mention it is because you have shot him in an ambient light situation where his eyes are neither too dilated nor too stopped down. If your modelling light and any other ambient lights in place had been much different his eyes would have looked different, likely not as good.
I find the background rather boring. On the plus side you have obviously wanted it even and have managed to keet it that way. Personally, I would have preferred a more varied tone or perfect uniform white. The colour looks a bit off, as if the whole photo has this green/khaki brown cast, which is most noticable in the background but is also fairly visible in his hair.
Finally, you have a moderately shallow depth of field but if you have the lens to shoot at wider apertures then doing so, with reduced flash power and or shutter speed and or ISO adjustments for sure, would produce even less depth of field and that would look better, imo.
Is your computer screen calibrated? The colour and the exposure are not quite right, so I doubt it. If not I urge you to invest what is quite a small amount of money in a calibration system, which is amazingly good value as it will imporve every photo you ever produce, assuming you use it every few weeks. You might also think about using a colour checker system. But calibration is even more important.
All told you have produced good solid photograph.
I had a play, along the lines I suggested, with a double vigniette (radial grad erased in the centre to clear his face of the effect. I am not sure the colour is perfect but it is more nutral, for sure.
To see what I have done, in its best light, click on the image and you'll see it against a dark page, and it will look its best.
Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. Again, many thanks.
Well one additional think that bothers me is a skin texture looks bit blurred to me, not much yet I still can notice it. I'm not sure if that makes sense for a male models, just my 2 cents, still great photo :)
Having read your comment I clicked on the original image and it becomes bigger and against a dark background it is easier to see. The skin texture looked less airbrushed than before I clicked. I think it OK. However, airbrushing is not something I am very knowledgable about or skilled in doing.
