Hi guys,
I'm not a expert on portrait photography, but as the first snow arrived here, I couldn't resist to take a photo of my lovely girlfriend :)
I've been hearing that the composition may be a bit tight, but I'd like to hear your opinion about it and suggestions about the processing here...
Thank you!
I think it is a bit tight, as you say. I also feel the foliage masking the eyes shift the emphasis to the lower part of the face, and because her lips are in shade that means to her nose. I don't think it works. I am sure her eyes and mouth would have added something to the portrait and the leaves don't add much. However, it is good that you are trying to find unusual ways to shoot. This will lead to mistakes but also to creative results. Non of us are always successful but if we accept that disappointment is innevitable whilst striving for innovative results we will continue and succeed.
Hi Ian,
actually I tried to emphasize her eye, but you're right, the nose is a distraction here.
I'd love to hear your opinion of the PP (retouching and such) too!
Many thanks for your feedback, it means a lot!
