I picked up my first camera roughly 4 years ago and over the past month or so I got myself some lighting to expand my portfolio, I was always a natural light person... The image I've attached was from one of the first shoots I've done after watching roughly 10 hours worth of tutorials on lighting!
Happy with this image as I'm pretty new to it!

A little dark but pretty good to me for an early lighting test. Well done. I think I would have prefered to see the top of hs head in this shot but its fine. Start with one light, as you have, then add more with time and experience.
Nice. But I would prefer not using blur to "smooth" skin.
Good point but may be you could suggest what you would prefer and why, which would be much more constructive/helpful.
For your first run, this is pretty good. I would have his face more centered in the picture or at least not cut off the top of his head; but overall the picture is good. I would ask a friend sit for you so you play around with the lighting.
As for after production: You did a good job. The nose seems a little more smoothed out than other parts of his face.
