Girlfriend's grandma has been asking for a photo of us for ages and as I'm usually taking pictures I don't often end up in front of the camera. We decided to do a photo for xmas for her and this is what we ended up with.
I'm not experienced with portraits so I mostly winged it.
Any critique on lighting or editing would be appreciated.
Grandma should be happy. I think I would have added a dark vigniette, or should that be more dark vigniette? It has been a week or so since I calibrated my screen so take the following with a pinch of salt. It also looks a tad blue and just a fraction pale, but overall it is absolutely fine.
Well done.
i think you're right about more vignette - I was originally worried about overdoing it and my discomfort with portraits got the best of me. I also made the white balance cooler after I already ordered the print the original for some reason looked too warm this morning when I went to make this post but I don't actually think that's the case like you said. I think it was non caffeinated brain being silly. I only wish I had thought to level out the bricks before rushing to order the print.
