Katey - natural light

Did some photos for a chef friend of mine around my local township. Here's one of the results. Any and all CC is appreciated.

I think this looks great.
Couple items:
1. The stray hairs on her right side kinda bug me, might be worth trying to clone some of it out.
2. The crop at the bottom feels a tad odd cause you don't see her hand connected to her arm, almost like it could be someone else's arm. I'd be curious to see what this looks like cropped near her waist.

I agree with Tom, pretty much exactly. Nice use of shallow depth of field, nice colour, nice girl. There was likely not much that you could have done about it but the large white square in the bg right is a bit distracting. If you had moved yourself left a few inches this would have been reduced a bit. Yes, the area on her other side would have opened up but perhaps 2 medium small areas of white either side of her head might have looked a bit better. Or cropping the right side to reduce the space on that side, with a bit also cut from the left side. I am thinking a square with the bottom as Tom suggested, the right near the vertical white out of focus street light, or whatever it is and the top slightly lower than yours. Not certain it would work, as I don't know what is below the frame as is.

I'd agree with the stray hairs. But biggest change to me would be burning the greens to the top and right of her ear, the unfortunate shape of the foliage distracts my eye. If just those light greens were Darkened a bit, it would definitely help her pop away from the background

Overall I like this shot!

I like the portrait too. The first thing my eyes went to, though truly after her eyes, was the phantom thumb below. I really like the shades of her pretty hair blowing across her white top. I won't guess whether it is real or not, but the rendered light green blur above her right shoulder looks....funky? There also seems to be something strange about where her left arm meets the crease of her arm pit. OK, now I'm just getting picky eh!? Thanks for sharing, it's a beautiful pic.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Have taken it all in and fixed everything up, agreed it looks much better now. Much appreciated!
