Hi guys,
I'm newbie at retouching and this is my first try at frequency separation. I wonder if I overdone it. What do you think? Any critique on other aspects of this picture is very welcome, I'm starting at studio photography and want to learn.
Thanks,
Pascal
Overdone skin retouch? Nah...overdone whitening of the whites of the eye....maybe so. Nice portrait though, beautiful model.
Thanks for the feedback. For the eyes, I mostly desaturated the blood vessels and I probably went too far, they look grey, I can see it now. Thanks again!
The whole photo is beautifully done, imo. Yes, it has a reduced sparkle, that may be what you wanted and that is, in my opinion, a touch of class. Anyway, it works beautifully as it is and we don't always need "pop". My recent landscapes have no pop at all, inapropriate for their mood, as is the case with this photograph. I am a bit of a stickler for over done eyes and these are perhaps over done, but so very slightly over done that even I am not at all bothered. Good colours, good lighting, good photo technique, good composition and very good looking woman. Finding fault is an exercise in futility and or in vanity. This is a very classy portrait. I love it. Very well done.
Thank you very much for your good words Ian.
I really like this photo. I can't offer critique as I'm just learning FS myself! Don't need blind leading the blind, but the model, light and look are great!
Thanks Scott!
