Dani Tribe Woman

A Dani tribe woman of Papua, Indonesia, breastfeeding her baby in the village communal kitchen. The woman and the children are in their traditional costume.

The interior ambient light was very low, with only some natural light coming in from the small door on the left of the image. A 90 cm softbox was used to balance the natural light...

First attempt at lighting/portraiture, feedback?

As the title says, this was my first attempt at lighting, and shooting a model. It was a huge learning experience, lots went wrong and didn't go according to plan, but we all have to start somewhere, right?
Any feedback is appreciated! Don't be afraid of sounding harsh, that's how I learn!

A Spartan on Iceland Moss

When driving through Iceland, I suddenly found this huge green field of moss. The sky was turning colourful and I took this shot with just a rotolight added as the light was a bit flat. I chose a rather long exposure and took many shots. On some the cloak was not blurred. For more photos please check out @dr.ali_alsulaiman on Instagram

Smoke & Light

Hello all you talented people! This was my first time shooting in a couple months. After editing, I am very happy with the results! So, I thought I would share. This image was shot with natural ambient light (outside), with a gelled key light, and orange smoke for atmosphere.

Summer Heat

I saw some smoke in the field behind my house and decided to go check it out. After realizing I wasn't going to report him to the fire department, he was more than willing for me to take some photos.

Sunset in the Teide National park

This is my very first post here on Fstoppers. I am an architecture photographer mainly, based in the Canary Islands (Spain) but I am in love with nature, hiking and I like cultural habits to be kept fresh. So I started this personal project of mine which consists in recreating and photographing scenes with impressive nature/sights which could...

The Cormorant fisherman

I had planned this picture for quite a while and on the day I took a motor raft up the Li River in China with an interpreter at 3 am hoping the capture pictures during the blue hour. It was almost a disaster due to condensation forming on the lens. I had placed the cameras and lenses in zip lock bags to get them acclimatized but took them out...

welcome to paradise

Last holiday in bali,Indonesia.... just found this beautiful beach, called "virgin beach". my daughter just walked in front of me, just wanted to get to the beach quickly.

Beauty in Beautiful Places

Had an idea to capture a juxtaposition of a fashion type portrait, in some beautiful location, and made the following image while on a trip to Banff National Park. I typically just do landscape/adventure type of stuff, so this was out of the norm for me. It was a fun shot to make, and hoping to do more in the future. Would love any feedback/...

Running long

My Father-in-law and I took a trip to the Oregon Coast to go fishing early one winter's day.

As we drove to the harbor, we stopped off to go check the weather conditions from the lighthouse - I thought I best bring my camera JUST IN CASE there were some cool sea conditions and scenes from up high..

As we were walking, a runner...
