For the past 7 yrs I have worked out of a studio in the Flatiron area of New York City. It has been a good serviceable studio for a variety of projects, but it has only one window that is not really conducive to natural light photography, especially for ful-length fashion shots. I recently had a catalog project that wanted to shoot spring-summer looks (in late Nov-early Dec). We built a set in my studio that allowed for soft light to wrap around the model. I was given the opportunity to play around with the lighting and drop the power down to the lowest (after the typical catalog shots were completed) and get more editorial images with less depth of field. Lighting is from 6x6' diffusion panel (Chimera) and single Profoto head to the left and almost behind the model creating the soft highlights. I think that it successfully re-created a window light feeling with the reliability of strobes for this studio shoot.
Well done sir
Love the short light technique used very well here :)
