As you may or may not know, for the last 4 months Patrick and I have been traveling around the world with Elia Locardi filming our next tutorial on all things landscape and travel photography. During this 4-5 month period, I never shaved. I let my beard grow to an obnoxious length and finally last week I was able to shave it all off. I had a little fun and came up with 8 different characters.
I've decided to give these files out to you, the Fstoppers community, to see what you are capable of doing with them. You can download the RAW files here: www.rlmorris.com/webpics/leepics.zip .
On Thursday April 15th I will pick my favorite edit from each look and post them on to Fstoppers.com with attribution to each of the editors. I will also give each of the winning editors their choice of one of our digital tutorials found in the Fstoppers Store.
Hint: Although I love laughing all of the hilarious entries, I am only going to choose winners that will work with the series as a whole.
"Welcome to my Saloon"
Haha!
Quick fun edit. :) I couldn't get the RAW files to open in CS6, so I edited the jpeg version. :/
Oh man... this is going to be more entertaining than I thought
I love how people are compositing the background and not just simply tweaking the RAW file
I told them they have the freedom to do whatever they want
I wish I was able to open the RAW file, lol.
too new of a camera?
my fav! what was the lighting setup. i LOVE IT
Very nice!
I shot most of these with two strip boxes and a beauty dish. I think this was a strip box to camera left as the key, strip above and behind as hair and maybe a reflector/fill card to the right. Just 2 lights if I rememever correctly
excelent!
Thought I would take a stab at it!
Wow very nice
Thanks Lee! This was a pretty fun task, keep it up.
are you going to do any more of them?
I think I may do one more tomorrow or Wednesday, digging the hunter and motorcycle look!
I think this is great but it needs more to put the character in a scene or in some crazy context.
Congrats! I chose this image as a winner for the contest. You can see the final post here: https://fstoppers.com/commercial/photographer-took-most-hilarious-beard-.... Send me a private message of which tutorial you would like from the Fstoppers Store.
:P
lol. I love the effort put into the cracks in the paint
I thought this was apropos since you said we had the "freedom" to do whatever we wanted. ;) teehee
thought this was a good one lol
Really like this... the background is perfect
Ha this one is great; I think this is a winner
Reminds me of the game Cluedo

found a background for the other one that I did earlier haha ... to much fun!
Not bad but I think I like your original
I was going to add some melting clocks, lol, but in the end, I liked it better plain.
Actually, kind of like this one, ha ha.
Love the clocks!

My wife said "Hank Jr." :)
:)
I think what I've learned from every one of these images is that the "character" versions of Lee are way cooler than the Everyday Joe Lee.
