Feedback

Hi All,

New to the group, just after some feedback on these.
Wanted to try that stereotypical sunset sports illustrated look from years ago

Cheers

Are you shy? Why no name? Anyway here goes.

White bikini; Superb use of colour and your flash is very well judged. The white against the reds of the scene and her skin look great and her jewellery all fab. Just two suggested improvements; the little piece of sea-weed, if that is what it is, near her right hand, needs to be cloned out and her left eye could do with a touch more light.

Floral bikini; Again great use of the sunset colour and nicely focused light but I suspect a bit less flash would have looked better, 1/3 stop less is all I am talking about, but as you seem to have shot RAW I guess you can sort that in Lightroom or Photoshop. Also I think the hard shaddow on her hair suggests a more diffused flash head would have worked better, it would have needed moving in closer to keep the hot spot from including her knees, as in this image. There is a strange hair thing going on at the 1 o'clock position on the top of her head. I think I would have removed her right foot, so you'd have a lovely clean line along the inner thigh, making it look like her foot was out of site in line with/behind her thigh. Finally there is a small vertical blackish reflection in the far right water as if there was a mast on the skyline. I suspect you removed the mast but we have the reflection which looks odd and is surprisingly distracting, an easy fix in Photoshop, fortunately.

Two lovely pictures nice job.

Hey Ian,

Not shy at all, just slowly working on my profile.

I have just noticed the seaweed now, as for the light it is because I could only use the one flash which is being held by a boom over the models head (you can see the shadow from rim of the face).

Yeah this was taken when I was still getting it right, the movement is from a slow shutter speed as the wind started to pick up.

Thanks for the feedback

Really like that first shot!

Really good job. The first one is really impressive. I like the reflection of her silhouette on the water. I think you have done it on purpose, but her face and upper body has more light than her lower body. It takes the attention to her face, though. So, again, good job! Congratulations.

love the first shot..
