Another visit to our garden using a vintage lens (Canon FD 50mm f/1.4) on my Canon R5.
NOTE: With this lens the minimum focusing distance is 18" at which point you have 1/4" depth of field.
Was down in Austin for a bit on a work trip. I've always heard how beautiful the skyline is from the river.
Was a little let down by the clouds, but what can I do!
My two favourite images from my recent night time adventure in Tenerife. Foregrounds and skies were shot separately and blended in PS.
Hi all, I was looking for such a group but see that although there are many members there hasn’t been a single post. Is there interest out there in getting this group going?
I thought I would try out my 50 year old lenses: Canon FD 50mm f/1.5 SSC and Canon FD 28mm f/2.8 on my Canon R5 with the use of the appropriate adapter.

I am no expert on Peter Hurley's work but suspect he does not have the sbject's shaddow on the background His white backgrounds tend to be perfectly white, one shade short of bleached out and perfectly even. Yours is very close to the right luminance but not totally even because of the shaddow.
What do you mean by, wishing you had done more with the hair?
I think she is slightly pale and her eyes slightly too editied. Apart from that you have used good technique.
I would suggest next time a slight reduction of your modelling light power, so her eyes dilate, just a bit more, which would be very attractive.
Given you are emulating another photographer I don't study I have little more to say beyond this shows some promise. It is almost very good in its own right although I find the pose/composition a bit odd.
Cheers, thoroughly appreciate the feedback!
Great job here. I like the light placement and skin exposure. The whites of the eyes are a little too edited, but great catchlights. Not sure what you mean by the hair but I think you could clean up the strays with the spot removal tool and do some shaping (especially the top left bit) with the liquify tool. I feel her pose is a bit awkward as whatever she is doing makes it look like she has no left shoulder. I think if Hurley saw this he'd say to stick the forehead out ("make it so you'll be calling your chiropractor" to paraphrase) to accentuate the jawline, make her more engaged with the camera instead of pulled back and way. Other than that, great work.
Yeah the hair needed to be fixed in post, but what I meant was I should have had it neatened up before I took the photo to make my life easier. Thanks for the feedback dude, appreciate it!
