My recent fishing boats posting looks terrible against the white page. So I clicked, hoping to see it against a black screen, as often happens, and always to great effect. However, I got it against a white screen, again and it continues to look over dark and dull. The white is killing it. Does anyone knowhow to solve this problem?

I edit in lightroom with my background set to white - which i feel keeps my images brighter than if i edit against black - but then regularly use the "lights out" function - pressing L to make the outside screen go black to see how it looks against black as well.
Sounds like a good idea. I edit in both lightroom and Photoshop and have a dark background. Never thoght about switching between backgrounds. I'll keep that in mind
