Hamnøya, Lofoten

Hi guys
I'm currently at the Lofoten Island in Norway.

I would love some feedback of this image, cheers :)

I have seen this view several times and for good reason, it makes a great picture. This is not the best version I have seen and that is down to the weather, tide and light. All beyond your control, I know, but repeated visits is what landscape photographers have to do, to get some semblance of control. That is what is needed here or it is just a snap shot of a great setting.

Hi Ian!
Thanks for the feedback and I'm sorry for the late answer. I'm currently trying to get the most out of my trip to Lofoten. The weather is rather bad which is quite unlucky :(

I know it's not the best version of this location but this is what the weather gods gave me. You are absolutely right about repeated visits as a landscape photographer and I'll defiantly be back :)

I think my comment about it being a snap was far too harsh. You used a tripod and very long exposure to good effect. By definition, not a snap. Sorry.

Better luck with the elements on your next visit.

Thanks Ian and no worries.

Its a shame the weather is not on your side. I know the feeling.

Hope the weather turns for better for rest of the days.
As Ian pointed, great location and very famous picture of Lofoten.

Not unique, and not the best I have seen, but quite possibly the best picture with the weather you experienced that day.

I feel there is a slight blue colour cast on the ice and through out the frame, in general.
Apart from that, Great Capture.

Even though I can see the moving clouds, the water seems reasonably calm.
Was it taken during the low tide?

A bit of movement in water would add bit more interest to this long exposure shot.

Thanks for the feedback Shyama!
Yes, there's a bit of blue colour cast but I actually liked it. So I kept it :)

It was taken early in the morning, I woke up and saw the weather had changed and the sunrise was visible creating some colours in the sky. Early in the morning it's low tide here at the moment and the weather/sea was quite calm on this day.

I have another version from yesterday, weather was still a bit uninteresting though. But there's some more movement.

I like the second shot. How ever the sky is more interesting in your first shot.

Indeed. Weather is a pain in the ... :)

What do you guys think about this version, another angle and sunlight on the houses.
