Help decide which is better.

I have shot few shots of the famous Neuschwanstein castle against the mountain range and the rising sun. I have two images with and without the sun. Could you guys tell me which one is better and why? Thanks for your time!

I like tje second the most. Im not into all the glare thing, and on the second you also manageto hide the roof of the building better :-)

I like number 2. The flare in number one is a bit too much for me. There are methods to minimizing lens flare shooting into the sun both in camera (holding a hat high above the lens and out of the frame to reduce sunlight into the lens) and in post-processing. But as it stands, I like the image that looks sharper and with crisper tonal contrast – number 2.

Thanks, Stuart! I should mention that it's a drone shot so not possible to hold a hat. ))) but it's a good tip, I do that on the ground all the time.

I like the first one. It's got that something special to it. Overall composition the second is maybe better, but I think the casual non-photographer (aka your real audience) would like the first.

Thanks, Ryan! Very true. The sun is appealing even if the image is "ruined" by the lens flare.

I gotta go with the first one as well. Both are great, but I think the first has more "appeal".

Thank you, John! Thank you very much, now I'm even more undecided than before. 😄

I like the first one more, it really caught my eye. It brightens up the photo a little more which in my opinion is better than no sun effect. Also i think the sun makes you focus more on the castle instead of the whole landscape. It really depends what effect you are going for.

I like the angle and lighting on the second one better :)
