Tanner, The biggest problem with this composition is the big green blob in the right lower corner. While one can use OOF foreground elements to help frame the subject of an image, that is not what is happening here. Moving closer to eliminate that element would have made for a lovely image.
Thank you for the comment! I do have several shots from the same angle without the rock with moss on it. I believe this was taken the first day I got my 50mm lens and was testing it out. I do agree with you though the out of focus rock doesn’t frame the subject of the image well at all.
