I found a very cool ice cave in BC a couple days ago. I'm snaking my way up to Alaska for the summer and can never resist a glacier. I spent a couple hours exploring in the cave and came away with a few decent snaps. I've been playing around with blowing out the entrances to the caves since it's more realistic to the way it looks in the dark. Curious as to thoughts on the look. Thanks!
Good call on the exposure
Thanks Ryan!
I think that top image was handled beautifully. The glow silhouettes the subject nicely and adds atmosphere and a bit of drama to the image.
The first one is spot on! Might have cropped a bit of the left side.
I really like the second shot. Probably because I can't tell the scale of the elements and I am hypnotised by it! Could you tell me something about it? Are those some small details?
The foreground pieces of ice are about half a meter tall. The background section in the shot is 3-5 meters tall. It was a pretty big cave. I shot this at 16mm pretty close to the foreground so it can screw up scale pretty quickly.
