Taiwan High Mountains

A few shots from Taiwan's tallest mountains. Taiwan has the highest density of mountains above 3,000 meters in the world. Featured here are shots from Nenggao Historic Trail, Jade Mountain, and Snow Mountain (minus snow).

I like the colours a lot, and a lot of these are quite good.
The only criticism I really have is that there is a little too much sky. I almost feel like the balance should be flipped. I've been guilty of this myself, but I've noticed when it comes to spectacular photos that I love, the sky seems to be taking a back seat to the foreground and subject. However, that could just be a personal preference thing, so I'm interested to see what others think.

Also, straight horizons are happy horizons. But that's a quick fix in lightroom.

I appreciate the feedback! You're right about the horizon being straight, I always miss that

Love the first three! I agree with Jordan that there could be a bit less sky and horizons should be straightened. I also think if you crop them in a bit more that could possibly improve them a bit more.

On the last picture there seems to be quite a bit of halo-ing on the mountain on the righthand side. This could also be easily fixed in LR (there was a great post on it recently on Fstoppers on how to prevent that when pulling up shadows in post)

Thanks for the input! I'll have to check out the halo fix

the first and third are killer... did you do any processing yet? this one i could debate over with Jordan i am a cloud porn nerd the best thing about sky's is it only happens once unlike a landscape its ever changing and you will never see the same sky twice I've already seen so many photos of the same tourist trap that I'm now bored with those photos but you give me a great sky and I'm hooked

Thank you! Yea I love the skies, and those particular sunsets/sunrises were unreal. I do some minimal adjusting in LR, but nothing too crazy.

Awesome shots. That hike sure paid off. The first three are amazing, especially the first and even more so the third.

Thank you! I appreciate it!
