I like the colour version more. It creates a subtle illusion the petals are tentacles and they're moving. I'd also try it centered like the b&w one, there's radial symmetry and it may look better centered.
OK .. Mask the background and or shadow burn it. You can use a camera w more dynamic but you should still mask and burn.
I would also brighten up the subject.

Best Black is when you burn it in wit mask or shadow burn
