TANAY DAS's picture

Critique required

This photo has been clicked right after a removal of total cloud cover. This sunlight was leaking through the thick storm clouds. I just wanted to know the over all criticism and if anything needs any tweaking or improvement.

I'm no professional, but I think its a great photo. Its so unique, the framing (that I assume is natural) due to the upper and lower bands of fog/cloud, are reminiscent of eyelids opening to capture a new vista.

Thank you. Yes its all natural. nothing added or removed.

Interesting interpretation, Chris. It totally fits.

Love the photo! Personally, it appears a bit too magenta, so I would consider toning that back. Brightening up or dodging the top of the clouds that the light is hitting in the bottom half. And lastly brightening the middle section where the mountains are more and adding a bit of contrast (this last one is very much to taste, would have to see it). But I do find myself almost feeling like I want to lift up those top clouds to reveal the mountain behind them, which tells me the mountain could benefit from more punch. Hope that helps. Incredible capture!

Thank you so much Thomas. That helped a lot

Love the image!

I would consider a 1:1 ratio as in the example below and adjust the tint just a bit. This creates more of a draw to the main subject.

Thank you. I will try this crop as well.
