First "Post Elia" Image...

This is a little bit of a cheat as I took the shot before I had watched any of Elia's tutorials and had processed using Lightroom. I wasn't in any way comfortable in Photoshop. I've watched around half of the tutorials and I wanted to practice what I was seeing on one of my own images so I returned to this one... Looking at it now I think maybe I need to tone down the polarisation a little, but any feedback from the community would be most welcome.

Overall, love the shot. Compositionally, it's dynamic and interesting. As far, as the balance goes I like the asymmetry. Very heavy on the left side, very light and airy on the right. The only thing that really sticks out to me is there appears to be a bit of a halo around the dome and along the right side of the building... Maybe from blending the sky? Maybe try to get in a little tighter there but it's beautiful, man. Great shot :)

Thanks Mike. I thought the same and I've gone back in and alongside reducing the polarisation I tightened the masking on the Temple. Thanks.

I'm seeing a pretty significant halo around the building. Try contracting your sky mask

The building could be brighter to pull attention to it. Right now, the wall in the left bottom corner is stealing all the attention, but clearly the building is supposed to be the central subject. Shifting the balance of light will do a lot for this image. Throwing more light on the grass highlights and sea will also help bring the image out of its midtone muddyness.

Thanks guys. I appreciate it.

OK, I had another go at the same image for consistency sake after finishing the tutorial. The Pancake rock episode was an absolute revelation.

Lee, Ryan what do you guys think?

Excellent improvement in my opinion! Nice work.
