First Go!

Hi y'all! Wanted to post this hoping for some feedback/constructive criticism. I've been lurking on fstoppers for a few weeks and admiring everyone's creativity and I'm hoping to pick up some technique and tips for my own work.

I think the image could use some dodge and burning...But mostly, I think we have seen this SO many times. Not that the image is bad, but it is something that people shoot a lot of. 3/5. But with some post work, could maybe move to a 4.

Agreed. Isn't the most creative shot but for me it was something to get the ball rolling. Appreciate it.

Hey Mike, glad to see you post here. I'm really digging this image. I've been shooting a lot of waterfalls lately as my new kick and this would be a keeper in my book. What could be improved? I think if you shot this same composition on a different day at a different time it would make a big difference to the "wow" factor. As it is, the sun is lighting the trees in the background which is distracting because they certainly aren't the subject and aren't particularly interesting trees. Instead, if you found a time of day where soft light scattered around the waterfall area and the background trees were darker, that alone would improve this photo. Thanks for sharing!

Great advice. Thank you!
