~ Red ~ natural light photography

Hello everyone,
Wanted to share some of my work here for everyone to see. And also I wanted to know, how many of the members in this group shoot with natural light?
I love shooting with natural light, it may be because I walk around a lot in constant search of places to shoot portraits, I don't have much time to set things up and I don't have any light kits apart from my father's vintage Vivitar 550FD flash.

That has some style. I like it.

You have some strange digital effect going on there but it looks good. I like the juxtaposition of the sophisticated dress in a very powerful colour against the natural forms of the grey stone or whatever the background is. And the depth to the bg. I also like the lipstick matching the dress and the slightly ungroomed hair, like after a long night of partying. Your lighting is good, especially for a single flashgun set-up. The crossed curves add to the image, a lot.

Nice work.

Thank you very much Ian. This was actually just sunlight on a 2 o'clock afternoon in the woods. I only use the old flash when I have no more light to work with. The model was sitting on limestone.

But there is blue white light from the left and warm light from the right, so I am confused.

Ah ok, now I understand what you mean. The cold and warm effect is is from my post processing work done on the picture. Here is the original unprocessed photo.

So the cool light from the left is some reflected ambient light or a practical?

Your edit does add some magic to this already nice image.

It's reflected ambient light. Thank you very much.
RAW files hold a lot of hidden info, it's a wonderful medium to work with.
