One of my favorite travel photos comes from my solo photo excursion to the Greek island of Santorini. With their whitewashed blue-domed buildings overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the villages of Fira and Oia are spectacularly beautiful.
I captured this little cliffside chapel in Fira just as the sun was setting. In post I made a very slight levels adjustment but it is essentially straight out of camera (SOOC). The best travel moments don't need Photoshop ;-)

What are you some of your best travel photos?
I truly love to travel. When I get the chance I try my best to get the best shots like these.
Note this is a screenshot from my website (currently at work unable to view 500px or my flickr to get the actual photo to share). But you can view my last trip to NYC here - http://chrisadvalproductions.com/cms/gallery/travel-nyc/
I'm based out of PA. Travel to me is basically anywhere. Of course this is subjective to other travel photogs it may be defined as out of your own country. I plan to travel the world though and hopefully share the best images where my venture in photo career. But note I do not plan on being a professional travel photog just do it while I do my primary professional gigs like fashion/commercial or weddings.
Great composition and colors Hillary!
Nice photo.
I just want to share my photo I shoot in my last travel to Bali, Indonesia. It was fully packed of tourist and to complete this photo I have to take 10+ shots and clear all the people in the photo using phoToshop. It was low tide. Usually this temple is submerged in water. A coomon shot of this temple you can find in google.
Beautiful shot, Hillary! The colors are incredible. Here's one shot on a rooftop in Paris; I decided to leave it very much as is - I really liked the sense of calm from the dusk shadows:
Beautiful image! Here’s one of my favourites from NYC.
My wife and I recently took a trip to Asia. One of the attractions we saw while in Thailand was the Floating Market. Although it has become a big tourist draw, it still maintains a very traditional look and feel. It can be difficult to get a shot that doesn't include a gaggle of tourists but it is possible with a little creative positioning. Just don't fall into the canal :)
I was working in Sicily when I got my first camera a Canon 7D, I love traveling and the experience you gain from it. One of my favorite and first travel photography shots come from Rome, Italy.
explore Bromo savana in Indonesia, this hills known as Teletubbies hill's
I shot this early on a foggy morning last spring along Rte 211 in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. This motel where I stayed has been in operation by the same family since 1946. It reminds me of places we used to stay when I was a boy traveling with my father in the 1950s. The fog, soft light and glow of neon added to the feel of a timeless memory recaptured. Nikon D80 .62sec. at f/22, ISO 100, Manfrotto tripod.
I love the soft pastel colors and light here. Very nice work.
I love the pastel colors and soft light. Very nice work, Hillary.
A late summer evening over looking Buenos Aires.
Hello! One of my favourite "Travel shot"s is actually one taken in my home town, Cape Town. It was taken on the day of Earth hour a few years ago, I went onto Table Mountain to shoot some images of the City in "darkness" during Earth hour. Ironically, as the hour ended, the Mountain lights were switched on, creating the opposite effect, a lit up mountain. The infamous Table Mountain Table cloth added some interest...
