You can never have too many lighting styles, so sit back for just 7 minutes, and learn a few more for future inspiration.
I'll be honest, I have a soft spot for Aputure. I have no affiliation with the company, and I just own one of their little MC RGB handheld LED light bricks, but it's great and I like their approach to lighting in general. Their motivation for creating lights is for filmmaking, but don't let that put you off if you're a photographer; their lights are multifaceted.Â
What attracts me most to their lights is they appear to me to be more cinematic, creative, and fun, rather than focusing on the more technical details. Their lights often have a number of settings which can revolutionize a bland scene in seconds. In fact, I had to do a magazine shoot in a meeting room at a record label in London and though the furniture was interesting enough, the scene couldn't have been more dull. I used the Aputure MC along with a couple of other lights and opted for bright, vibrant colors similar to what you see in this video. By the end of it, you couldn't tell where I was. You never know when some lighting ideas might come in handy.
They should probably mention that these effects are also available on the way less expensive 120 d II.
