This sunset photo captures the rustic grandeur of the Old Faithful Inn, one of the most iconic lodges in the National Park system. Framed by a rising plume of steam from a nearby geyser, the image reflects the natural beauty and geothermal energy that define Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. As I was setting up for this shot, I noticed fresh bison droppings nearby, it was a reminder that wildlife had just passed through and that I needed to hurry to take my shot. I was drawn to the way the golden light caught the steam and landscape, giving the scene a dreamlike, timeless feel.
This shot was taken handheld at 90mm, f/6.3, 1/100 sec, ISO 800 using a Nikon Z8 and the 24-120mm f/4 Nikkor S lens.
