Gliding

I had this idea for a while and was very happy to get a chance to do it. This is at Death Valley and shot at 400mm. I had to run about 3 minutes just to get into the position for the shot which was a lot of fun too. I set the camera up and had my wife trigger it while I ran through the scene a few times.

I wanted to do it in the evening but good lord it was so hot, 126 deg (52 Celsius) when we were there. So I waited and did it in the morning right after the sun popped up and it a was a tolerable 90 deg (32 Cel).

I didn't stay as long as I would have liked too, I'll go back when it's more tolerable.

Nice work, Mike!
Nice credit to the wife, too!

I've been there in the HEAT and even though it's been extreme, there are still people dotted all over the dunes!, Early morning FTW! (For The Win)

Thanks Frank, I saw a guy on the bigger dunes just before sunset. It was ridiculously hot. I couldn't believe it.

Wonderful work Mik--I appreciate how often our photo shoots can become a fitness test (especially in dune fields!). Love the composition and glad you survived the heat!

Thanks Steve. We do a lot of physical stuff just for a chance for a photo. I am sure I would be in worse shape without photography in my life

Hi Mike Yackulic
scaling figure is giving an interesting meaing to this frame !!

Thank you, I love landscapes but I am enjoying trying to find ways to put a person in the scene to make it more interesting. just need to learn posing.
