Between Mist and Motion

This image was created at Pelaga Waterfalls in Bali using a Canon R5 paired with a 17mm tilt-shift lens. Instead of a traditional wide-angle landscape, I used tilt-shift movements to selectively guide the focus, blending the intimacy of portraiture with the power of the environment. The human figure, dwarfed by the waterfall, adds scale and a conceptual contrast between fragility and nature’s force.

One of the biggest challenges was the extreme humidity — the lens is not weather-sealed, so I had to constantly manage condensation while working in the mist. That constraint pushed me to be more intentional with my framing and timing, making this shot not just technical but experiential.
