The F/A-18 Hornet's maneuverability stems from its leading-edge extensions (LEX), digital fly-by-wire system, good thrust-to-weight ratio, and high angle-of-attack (AoA) capability, allowing it to perform tight turns and maintain control at high speeds and unusual angles. While not as agile as some single-engine fighters like the F-16 in sustained turns, its design excels at low-speed, high-AoA maneuvering, giving it a small turning circle and excellent nose-pointing ability for close-in dogfights.
