Pride Rock

140mm · f/5.0 · 1/250 · ISO 160

This was taken on the way to the DC-3 plane wreck before the crowds, when the sun had just started to push through a low bank of cloud over Dyrhólaey on our last day in iceland. I was shooting with my X-T3 at 140mm telephoto handheld, which let me compress the farm, land features, backlit arch and coastline into a set of layers.

the dark foreground was a very flat glacier bed that picked up the angled light and farm houses beautifully.

In post, I focused on keeping the contrast and colours while keeping the rest of the scene muted to match how quiet it felt.
