I must say that given the complexity and detail of the piece, it is not easy to light, and you were able to do it without any visible flaw. On the other end, you have a piece with lots of shapes and transparencies, but you still have a boring looking shot. The white background, flat light and no evident transparency works for a catalog shot, and that is what it is, but I encourage you to do a hero shot of this piece if you have it still, should be able to get great portfolio image.
