Yes, it is.
I know it well and have been over it many times between 2004 and 2010. I was terrified of heights but was driving back from Oslo and it was very stormy and altho the ferries were running there was no ay I was going it. I got to the last exit before the bridge and a sign flashed saying if I didn't take the enxt exit I hd to drive over the bridge. I pulled over and sat there and cried, yes a grown man in his 40's. I then just put my foot down and drove past the exit so I had no choice. I don't know what happened but a sense of peace came over me as I started the long drive over that bridge. I drove slowly and took in the magnificent views. The winds had calmed a lot but not completely. A day I shall never forget. I still have not had my fear of heights return.
