This shot was taken during a cold afternoon in Vancouver BC. We have 4 months of rain each year. Sometimes we have over 20 raining days in a month during the winter. Doing a outdoor shoot this time of year is challenging. We book the shoot 2 weeks before and hoped the weather will be good. Thank god, we had 3 hours of sunshine that day.
The lighting setup is pretty simple. Profoto B2 with 2' beauty dish on camera right as the key and I simply use the sun as the hair light. I used my trusted Sigma 50 Art lens and I like shooting wide open (F1.4) in order to do that my shutter speed went up to 1/1600s. Thank to HSS, I was able to capture this shot.
