This is the "famous" Brockenbahn, a train that takes visitors up the Brocken Mountain in Germany - and back down again. This service continues to run in winter even, making for some beautiful images if there is snow.

Now this brings back memories of when I was a boy. Well not the landscape but the train. I use to go to the railway line which was one street away and watch these beautiful engines go by. The driver ALWAYS sounded the whistle and it made my day :)
Where I live we dont get snow only further south from me
