Glacier National Park often has natural occurring fires that are caused by lightning strikes. As much as it is a bummer to see and hear about wildfires, some of our forests, prairies, and wetlands partly depend on the effects of these fires. For example, there are certain seeds that have an outside coating that breaks open during these fires and stimulates germination. After a fire rips through an area, it will at first look like complete devastation but with time, it can turn into something beautiful like what you see here.
