Heli Blast

Following my 'Guides Eye View' image (see my portfolio), I had the opportunity to visit Greenland on a ski expedition and wanted to catch another incoming helicopter image. This shot was taken on a Nikon D810 and Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 lens and was very much a spontaneous/opportunistic shot. The guide in front of my was a real legend and the only rule I was given was to stay behind her and stay flat to the ground. I love taking these kind of shots - the experience is so intense and you never quite know what you've shot until you recover from being blasted by an arctic snow storm.
